JANUARY 2023
___________________________________________________________
A new year is upon us. It promises to be a fun and exciting year with lots of fun activities.
We are now now on Facebook as another avenue to keep members updated on events.
Our first club meeting of the year was on January 4th followed by our Coffee night at Tim Hortons at South Edmonton Common on the 18th. It was a frigid night but we did get 5 brave souls that came out.
FEBRUARY2023___________________________________________________________
Out of the deep freeze and into milder temperatures. we had our meeting on the 1st and coffee run on the 15th. We then had a bowling night on the 25th at the Sherwood park Bowl. We had 20 athletes come out test their luck and skill. Marco Erba had the highest score and this was his first time bowling!
We then went next door to Smilies Village restaurant and had a nice Chines buffet in one of their private rooms.
MARCH 2023
_____________________________________________________________
March had a fun social. A group of us went to the escape room "Trapped". Although we did not break the record of of 16 minutes, we did escape the "Carnival Room" in a satisfactory 47 minutes. Then it was off to Chiantis for dinner.
Club member Gord Ehrenlechner celebrated the first day of spring on March 21st by posting that he actually took his Vette out for a ride.
APRIL 2023
_______________________________________________________________
The snow is gone and the Vettes are out! The facebook page has many creative pictures of the members and their cars out in the sunshine after a long hibernation.
Our club meeting on April 5th was active with all of the conferences and various rides for the season getting planned and starting to take shape.
We had a great turnout on April 15th to our social event at the Comic Strip at west Edmonton Mall. We had appetizers, drinks and enjoyed great laughter.
MAY 2023
________________________________________________________________
On May 6th we had a Corvette meet and greet at the Prairie Boys Car Wash in Ponoka. We had over 20 cars turnout to meet some old friends, have a BBQ and then do a cruise to Gull Lake. Our new mascot Corvette Fred made his grand appearance.
On May 13th some of us joined with the Spruce Grove group to cruise down to Abraham lake. We had 35 Vettes from across Alberta join us in Rocky Mountain House before moving on to the lake to take pictures and relax. The weather was extremely warm yet the lake was still frozen over.
May 17th had our first ice cream run of the season over at the dairy queen on 199 street. Good turnout despite the ongoing smoke from the wildfires.
On the May long weekend (19th to 21st) Corvettes Unlimited hosted the "Kelowna cruise into summer 2023" It was a well attended weekend event which featured a Concours and Show & Shine, a poker rally, a double slalom race and an awards banquet on Sunday night.
JUNE 2023
________________________________________________________________
We started this month with a "Corvettes, Coffee, and Cobs" on Sunday June 4th at Emily Murphy Park. It is exactly how it sounds. Coffee, some nice snacks from Cobs Bakery and a meetup to relax and chat on a Sunday morning with an appearance by Corvette Fred and even Wilma came by!
On Friday June 16th, 12 of us did a cruise out to the Westlock Inn for their prime rib buffet dinner. We were there for 3 hours and went past closing time. The courtyard setting was so relaxing and the staff were so accommodating.
The ice cream run was on the 21st out to the town of Morinville to their Dairy queen location. Longest day of the year.
JULY 2023

The Regina Corvette Club hosted their convention on June 30th to July 2nd. They had a show and shine along with a slalom on Sunday and a great BBQ.
On Friday July 7th we had a great cruise with 12 Vettes out to the Bruce Hotel for steak night. It is an hour cruise east of Edmonton to a great dining experience. This small place is only open on the weekends and you have to make reservation.
ions. People drive from all over Alberta for their great steaks and their buffet style homemade food.
On Sunday July 16th we had a timing training session out in Stony Plain to get those interested helping out at the race track for the upcoming NACOC conference. It is well attended and appreciated
for those who came out.
For those not interested in the training session we had another edition of the Corvettes, Coffee and Cobs out at the Strathearn Park Lookout. It was a smoky morning and a coyote came around but Corvette Fred was there ready to protect Wilma.
July 19th was our ice cream run out to Jack's Drive-in in Spruce Grove.
July 22nd-July 29th was the 10th Anniversary of The Rocky Mountain Corvette Cruise. This year was a 1 week cruise that started in Hinton and went to Clearwater, Kamloops, Mission, Kelowna and finished at Three Valley gap. It is an amazing time with 33 Vettes, fun daily stops in small towns to see local attractions. All meals and accommodations are taken care of. It is a great yearly trip.
